EAGLE TRIKES History.
I, Ian ‘Hop’ Nelson created Eagle Trikes from out of frustration. I wanted to buy a trike for my own personal use, but there was nothing available on the market that appeared to be safe, strong, reliable and fun to ride. So, I built my first trike and it did conform to my stringent requirements. Not only did I like it, so did other trike enthusiast who wanted one of my creations - EAGLE TRIKES was born.
I have now been building trikes for over ten years - 85 units in total are in Australia.
All the trikes that I have currently constructed are based on motorcycle type assemblies.
My qualification is Grade A Trade Fabrication Engineer 5.15AB, 5.17AB, 5.19AB, 5.7AB.
My background is in marine engineering, dealing with computer generated designing, metallurgy, and structural designing through to engine repairs.
I am currently studying for my trade certificate in Boiler Making.
EAGLE EIGHT TRIKE Project
The original design parameters were to design a trike that looks like a bike, has a modern V8 power plant installed and rides like a good handling trike.
A prototype Eagle Eight has been manufactured and tested and the results are amazing. The handling and power of the Eagle Eight is outstanding. In effect you are just sitting on top of a powerful V8 with 3 wheels. It is FAST - 0 to 100 klms is attained in just over 2.5 seconds.
The 4 speed overdrive gear box allows the Eagle Eight to purr along at 1850rpm at 100klms resulting in a smooth cruising speed with excellent fuel consumption.
ENGINE - options for the Eagle Eight Trike.
Boss 260 5408cc V8 (4000rpm) Max Torque 500Nm
91 to 95 and higher rated octane
Fuel injected Quad Cam New engine
Cast Iron block & Alloy heads with variable valve timing
LS2 6000cc V8
Max Torque 5600 lbs-ft (4400rpm)
91 to 95 and higher rated octane
Fuel injected New engine - Alloy block and heads
All trikes will be delivered as per pollution control measures in place in Australian
Engine management systems will be via a programmable computer set to current E.P.A. requirements.
TRANSMISSION
Four speed auto
CHASSIS/ FRAME
Computer designed tubular chassis out of 50mm and 44mm 450mpa seamless tube
FRONT END
Eagle Trikes ‘Springer’ front suspension . This suspension has fully adjustable spring over shock absorbers, so the ride height of the trike can be set to the owners requirements. It is specifically designed to handle the stresses of such a large trike and is the best on offer to date in the V8
trike industry. I have sold many of these to resolve other customers front end problems.
REAR SUSPENSION
Eagle trikes independent suspension using double wish bone geometry with fully adjustable spring over shock absorbers, so the ride is very adjustable.
BRAKE SYSTEMS
Twin disc front brakes operated by the RHS handlebar mounted master cylinder (same as motor cycle).
Disc brake rear end under the right foot as per motor cycle with the added brake booster for the rear brakes only.
Dot 5 brake fluid is used on the trike.
BODY PANELS
Fibreglass Construction – two style available:
’32 Ford Replica Body for the Ford Engine option.Model to be called the HAMMER
And a brand new Body design for the Chev Engine option. This model to be called the SCYTHE

Front mag - Dragway billet mag wheel to copy the rear wheels: 150 / 90 - 16 M/C tyre
SEATING
Two seats rider and pillion, pillion directly behind rider. With a hire/tour vehicle, model to be released very soon after comlpiancing

Fuel capacity is 55 litres, as yet we do not have fuel consumption reports. Fuel is 91 octane or better unleaded. Alloy fuel cell.
HEADLIGHTS
Twin billet 145mm headlights.
TAILIGHTS
LED taillights
CONTROLS
Harley Davidson replica switch blocks.
Rocker gear selector under the left foot with safety lever under left hand (gears can't be selected unless lever is depressed.)
